Big Steps for Alfie

We are doing this for one special cheeky reason, Alfie!

Alfie is our youngest son and is one of the triplets. At the tender age of 27 weeks in utero he had a stroke in his cerebellum. We were unaware of this until an MRI was conducted when Alfie was 8 months old.

However through the wonderful work of the Townsville University Hospital NICU and Special Care teams, Alfie was referred to the Child Development Services and started physical, occupational and speech therapies at 6 months old. Having these Therapist in place for the last 3 years and having access to the NDIS Early Intervention Program has given Alfie the best chance at life. Mixed that with three siblings and a strong tenacious personality, Alfie will give anything a go and just in the last few months he has officially started walking.
