Steptember 25

I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?

Hiya! I’m stepping up for a month-long mood boost and taking on 10k steps a day. But I really need your help!

Please donate now to my Steptember fundraiser.

You’ll give me a much-needed motivation boost, plus you’ll feel great knowing that your gift is helping ensure more babies receive critical cerebral palsy therapy and support in the first 1000 days of life.

Please support me this Steptember.

It will mean so much to me, and to the children and babies who will grow up with a greater sense of independence.

Donate now for an instant mood boost! Thank you!.

Making This September a Steptember to Remember

Sunday 24th Aug

This year, I’m taking part in Steptember for the very first time, and I have H&R Block to thank for giving me the push to get started.

Walking has always been my way to recharge. Whether it is a weekend hike, a slow evening stroll, or a quick lap around the block, it clears my mind and helps with my mental health.

Music is my favourite walking companion. Every song sparks a memory with friends or family, and for a few minutes I feel pure happiness. It is almost like therapy, and the best part is that it is free. Even at work, if I feel like I need a little break, I step outside for a short walk and return with fresh energy to focus again.

Looking Back at My Step Counts

Thanks to Apple Health, I have been tracking my steps for years. Syncing it with the Steptember app has been eye-opening. Here is a little look back:

·         - 2025: 19,694 steps (13.50 km)

·         - 2024: 20,322 steps (13.91 km)

·         - 2023: 26,215 steps (18.52 km)

·         - 2022: 46,227 steps (31.46 km)

Now, 46,000 steps in a day might sound extreme, and I do not believe more steps always equals better health. What matters is balance, consistency, and enjoying the journey. Looking at these numbers side by side reminded me that while my totals have dropped in recent years, what really counts is that I am still moving.

Daily Wins and Small Improvements

One of my favourite things about Apple Health is the little milestones it celebrates with you. This August, my daily step average was 4,279 steps, which is already higher than July’s average.

My walking and running distance has lifted too, from 2.6 km/day in July to 2.8 km/day in August.

So even though I do not go on as many long hikes these days, I can see that steady progress still matters. Those small wins add up.

Why Steptember Matters

For me, Steptember is about more than staying active. It is about making every step count for babies with cerebral palsy. That purpose makes each walk even more meaningful.

I have also realised movement does not only come from walking. Playing with my cat Milo, cleaning the house, or dancing around to music at home all get me moving, and all help me feel better.

A Gentle Reminder

If you are joining Steptember too, here are a few things to keep in mind:

·         - Drink plenty of water

·         - Rest when you need to

·         - Celebrate small wins along the way

Walking is not a race. Every step, no matter how big or small, is a step towards better health. And together, we are stepping up for an incredible cause.

Here is to making this September a Steptember to remember.
