First steps

First blog post, not sure how frequent I'll be. I've happily joined the company efforts to support this great cause.

Whatever effort I manage, I know that it pales into insignificance next to those affected by cerebral palsy.

The challenge for me is going to be consistency - hitting the daily target no matter what.

I'm a keen cyclist, so that's going to be the effort that I keep track of rather than steps. I'm really lucky to have an indoor training set-up at home which means that even in lockdown and limited to an hour of outdoor exercise per day, I don't have excuses. Rain or shine, I can ride.

... and after uploading my first few data points, I am surprised by how complimentary the algorithm is of cycling, giving me something like 20,000 steps for an hour of hard cycling. 

So that's going to be my stretch target: 20,000 equivalent steps a day!
