Steptember 25

I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?

Hiya! I’m stepping up for a month-long mood boost and taking on 10k steps a day. But I really need your help!

Please donate now to my Steptember fundraiser.

You’ll give me a much-needed motivation boost, plus you’ll feel great knowing that your gift is helping ensure more babies receive critical cerebral palsy therapy and support in the first 1000 days of life.

Please support me this Steptember.

It will mean so much to me, and to the children and babies who will grow up with a greater sense of independence.

Donate now for an instant mood boost! Thank you!.

Another appointment... Just for something different

Monday 29th Sep
As I write this while on train, on the way to yet another appointment, I wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has donated this year for such a worthy cause. Without organisations like the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, people like Henry would not have access to the early intervention needed to help them reach appropriate milestones sooner. If Henry was not flagged so early, I doubt he would be able to eat solid food (only figured that out the Christmas after turning 2), he wouldn't be able to stand (currently able to while holding onto furniture or hands), definitely wouldn't be able to walk (currently with a walker and AFOs, which is not cheap), and we are currently investigating a wheelchair to help with longer distances. Please consider donating to this amazing cause. Henry, and many people like him, thank you for your donation.

The impact that early detection made for my family

Sunday 21st Sep
I cannot stress how important this charity is for my family.

In March 2023, when Henry was 4 months corrected (7 months old), Cerebral Palsy Alliance were flagged to test Henry as he showed signs in his tests that might indicate CP.

By August of 2023, in a Dr appointment at the Twin Clinic at Canberra, 2 Paediatricians, 1 Neonatologist, 2 Physios, 1 OT, 1 Speech Pathologist and a letter of recommendation from the Alliance, all decided to diagnose Henry early with CP.

What this meant was that Henry would then have access to the very important NDIS funding that was necessary for him to reach the best outcomes for life.

Physio, OT, Speech Pathology, Hydrotherapy, Allied Health Assistants, Rehab Clinics, Botox injections, AFOs, Walking frames, Specialised high chairs, and currently on order is a wheelchair... all to help Henry with his ability to function as close to a 'normal' person as possible.

Without all the wonderful people that we have met throughout Henry's very short 3 years, Henry would not be at the stage he is, doing all the crazy things that he is able to do.
