Why I'm doing Steptember 2025
Wednesday 27th Aug In March 2025 I underwent major reconstructive surgery on my left foot as a result of ongoing complications with a congenital disease. I was off my feet for around 8 weeks and started physio at the end of April. Full recovery is expected to take up to 12 months.Throw in to the mix the birth of our first baby at the end of July and needless to say I have not been as physically active as I would like this year.
The birth of my daughter has also highlighted how precious parenthood is so if I can participate in Steptember to hold myself accountable physically, while raising much needed funds for new parents that have been thrown a curveball in the form of CP then why not?!
I am still on my recovery journey so have set myself the target of 7,500 steps a day - for context I have been averaging <2,000 since March so this will still be a challenge so please donate generously to a very worthwhile cause!
