I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?
Hi! I’m stepping up for a month-long mood boost and taking on 10k steps a day, and I’d love your help!
With my twins having been born at 26 weeks and weighing 730g and 830g, they were at risk of suffering a brain bleed, which often leads to cerebral palsy. I so clearly recall being in the birth suite after my waters broke, talking with the Neonatologists about what to expect if our babies were born at that early gestation. It was a terrifying time. Thankfully I had enough time between my waters breaking and giving birth, to receive two steroid injections, which helped protect my babies’ brains from bleeds prior to their birth.
Despite that, one of my beautiful twins is at risk of being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but we feel so very lucky that she receives regular therapy at Monash Children’s, VPRS and with our wonderful OT, Gabi. With this early intervention, we hope she will show no, or very minimal, signs of cerebral palsy as she grows up. She’s doing incredibly well so far!
Your donation will give me a much-needed motivation boost, plus you’ll feel great knowing that your gift is helping ensure more babies receive critical cerebral palsy therapy and support in their first 1,000 days of life.
It will mean so much to me, and to the children and babies who will grow up with a greater sense of independence.
Donate now for an instant mood boost! Thank you!
