I'm doing Steptember for the babies!
Did you know that Steptember has funded research into early detection and therapies that have reduced the incidence of CP in Australia by 40% in the last 20 years?
Did you know that a baby offered early intervention therapy can have the effects of CP significantly reduced or even cured?
Did you know that I have cerebral palsy? I have hemiplegia which means 1 side (right in my case) is affected. The photo on my profile shows the cast I wore for 2 weeks after getting Botox in my right arm, in an effort to straighten it. The treatment worked but not permanently and over time, my arm has tightened up again. So I'm looking down the barrel of 3 weeks in a cast in the Brisbane summer heat!
But that treatment is a walk in the park compared to the daily struggles and constant pain faced by many with cerebral palsy. Your donation to Steptember will go to research and support to make easier the lives of those in our community who live with cerebral palsy and to provide therapies to babies that are diagnosed early, so their CP is nipped in the bud!
What better reason to donate than to help babies!
