Stepping Out of Hibernation
I’m back for my third STEPtember.
For me, STEPtember has become a bit of an annual reset. I tend to hibernate through the cooler months, my exercise drops off, and by the time September rolls around I usually need something to get me moving again.
So this year my goal is pretty simple: average at least 10,000 steps a day for the month of September.
That’s 300,000 steps across the month, and more importantly, a way of holding myself accountable and rebuilding the exercise habits I want to carry into spring and summer.
Of course, there’s a much bigger reason behind STEPtember too.
The money raised supports Cerebral Palsy Alliance and helps fund early detection and therapy for babies with cerebral palsy, giving them the best possible start during those critical early years.
So for me, it’s a pretty good combination: feel good and do good.
I get the motivation and accountability I need to stop hibernating and start moving again, while hopefully raising some money for a genuinely worthwhile cause along the way.
If you’d like to donate, I’d really appreciate the support.
Otherwise, feel free to keep me accountable.
30 days. 300,000 steps. Time to get moving.
