I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?
Why I'm Taking Part in STEPTEMBER
This September, I'm taking on the STEPTEMBER Challenge to raise funds for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and support the incredible work they do for individuals and families living with cerebral palsy.
As a Technical Officer, I split my time between the office and the field. Like many in my profession, some days are spent behind a desk reviewing plans, reports, and project documentation, while other days are spent out on site conducting inspections and engaging with stakeholders. I'd say many of us spend our time about 50/50 between the office and the field.
STEPTEMBER is a great opportunity to turn those everyday steps into something meaningful. It's also a great incentive to get out and about a little more, stay active, and contribute to a cause that genuinely changes lives.
As a CFMEU Delegate, I'm particularly proud to support this initiative. The CFMEU ACT, together with the Tradies Club, has a long-standing commitment to supporting the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and the valuable services they provide to people living with cerebral palsy and their families. Their support helps raise both awareness and much-needed funds for programs that improve independence, mobility, communication, and quality of life.
Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood and affects how the brain communicates with the muscles. Every person's experience is different, and many require specialised therapies, equipment, assistive technology, and ongoing support throughout their lives. The Cerebral Palsy Alliance plays a vital role in delivering these services across NSW and the ACT.
Throughout September, I'll be aiming for 10,000 steps a day while raising funds for this fantastic cause. Whether those steps come from a day in the field, a lunchtime walk, or extra laps around the neighbourhood, every step will help support the important work of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
If you're able to support my fundraising effort, I'd greatly appreciate any donation, big or small. Together, we can help make a real difference and ensure that every step counts.
Thank you for your support. 👣💙
