Steptember 26

You never think your family will be affected

In March 2026, my world changed when my first grandchild, a beautiful baby girl named Alison, was born. đź©·
Unfortunately, Alison’s arrival into the world was a difficult one. She experienced a seizure as a result of hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE), which caused damage to her brain.
Since then, Alison has been closely monitored by her incredible medical team at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, and now through Cerebral Palsy Alliance, as she continues to be assessed for the possibility of cerebral palsy.
This journey has made the work of Cerebral Palsy Alliance incredibly personal to me.
So this September, I’m taking on the STEPtember challenge and committing to 10,000 steps every day for the month. 👟💪
I’m doing it for Alison, and for all the babies and children who need access to early intervention, therapy and support.
The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are incredibly important, and funds raised through STEPtember help give babies at risk of cerebral palsy access to critical therapy and support during this vital time.
I would absolutely love your support. Whether it’s a small donation, sharing my fundraiser, or simply cheering me on as I get those 10,000 steps in each day, it all means so much.
Every step I take this September will have a little extra meaning behind it.
For Alison. đź©·
For other babies and children like her. đź©·
And for the opportunity for them to grow, thrive and experience as much independence as possible.
Please consider donating to my STEPtember fundraiser. Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
Thank you so much for supporting me — and more importantly, for supporting babies and children living with, or at risk of, cerebral palsy. 🩷
