Steptember 26

I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?

Sometimes the world gets one thing spectacularly right, and early intervention for cerebral palsy is one of those rare moments. This challenge is a chance to help make sure more families get that same opportunity. nnWhen our daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, her future was filled with uncertainty. The first 12 months of her life were critical, as she received intensive early intervention that helped her overcome much of the severity of her condition. Those therapies laid the foundation for the incredible little girl she is today and showed just how life-changing early support can be. nnWe were blessed to adopt her when she was 12 months old. While we weren’t there for the very beginning of her journey, we have had the privilege of watching her strength, determination, and resilience every single day since. Her diagnosis has never and will never defined who she is. Today, she still attends regular therapy and is constantly reaching her full potential. This is a reoccurring reminder that progress is possible with the right support, dedicated professionals, and a community that believes in children living their best lives. nA lot of her progress is thanks to her foster family before us, but it’s also a reminder that the right therapy and early interventions are the cornerstone for rapid and extensive progress. nnI’m taking on the September Challenge to honour my daughter’s journey and to help ensure other families have access to the same life-changing early intervention and ongoing support. Every kilometre I complete is for her, and every donation helps give other children with cerebral palsy the opportunity to reach their own incredible potential.
