Steptember 26

I'm taking on Steptember! Will you please show your support?

Hi! I’m stepping up for a month-long mood boost and taking on 10k steps a day. But I really need your help!

Please donate now to my Steptember fundraiser.

You’ll give me a much-needed motivation boost, plus you’ll feel great knowing that your gift is helping ensure more babies receive critical cerebral palsy therapy and support in their first 1,000 days of life.

Please support me this Steptember.

It will mean so much to me, and to the children and babies who will grow up with a greater sense of independence.

Donate now for an instant mood boost! Thank you!

R U OK? – A Walk and a Check-In

Friday 11th Sep
On R U OK? Day, Raj joined me for a quick 10-minute STEPtember walk. It was a simple reminder that movement can be about more than just getting our steps up. A short walk can give us time away from the desk, some fresh air, and a chance to have a genuine conversation and check in with each other. Thank you, Raj, for stepping out with me. I’ll be continuing these short walks throughout September and encouraging others to join when they can. Every step counts, and so does asking, “R U OK?”

First of September

Thursday 3rd Sep
🚶‍♀️ Day 1 of STEPTEMBER… apparently I exercise now. 😂

I haven’t properly walked or exercised in a LONG time, and I’m not usually one to share fundraisers on Facebook… but this one is a little different.

Through work, I’ve decided to use STEPTEMBER as my excuse to kick-start some regular fitness again.

With 50 creeping up on me 😳, I figure it might be time to stop thinking about exercising and actually start doing it. 😂

So today I made myself get up and MOVE.

👟 10-minute walk out of my 30-minute lunch break
👟 Another 20-minute walk this afternoon
👟 And, most importantly, I actually did it instead of talking myself out of it!

Nothing groundbreaking. No marathon. No dramatic fitness transformation by lunchtime. 😂 Just getting off my backside, putting one foot in front of the other and starting somewhere.

The bonus is that every step this month is also for a good cause, supporting Cerebral Palsy Alliance and helping children and babies with cerebral palsy access therapy and support. 💕

So here begins my “Fit-ish Before 50” STEPTEMBER era. 😂

If you’d like to support me, donate, or simply watch me attempt to keep this up for an entire month, here’s my page:

Now I just have to convince tomorrow’s Mel that today’s Mel has committed us to this. 🤦‍♀️😂
